Happy Birthday Princess Caroline!

Today is Princess Caroline of Monaco's birthday. We are taking a look into her decor style from childhood to now. She was born during the mid-century craze but of course their house was influenced by the Golden Age of Hollywood due to her mother being Grace Kelly and so Hollywood Regency can be seen in their interiors. Elinor (the mother half of our mother-daughter team at The Collected Invitation) was actually lucky enough to attend a gala in 1979 in Monaco with her father, which Princess Grace and Prince Ranier also attended. The event was preceded by a concert by Itzhak Perlman. Below are a collection of little boxes Elinor has and one is from that trip with her dad. We love collecting and selling trinket boxes!

We found few pictures detailing the houses of Caroline but what we did find were fun to see. Look at the elephant end table in the photo below where she sits with mother, Grace Kelly, and dog. The bamboo gilt coffee table is also amazing as is the beautiful lamp.

The next image was taken by Slim Aarons at the family palace in 1977. Loving the rattan piece she is sitting on and vases behind. The brass lamp silhouette is very timeless. We are building a huge collection of brass candlesticks for our daughter/sister's November wedding so we love it all right now!

We also found a picture of Caroline with her decorator, Jacques Grange, who is known for mixing traditional with contemporary- perfect for a modern day princess. Though in the photo, they are in a very traditional setting which is beautiful with busts and what looks to be an enticing painting.
